LIFE SATORI

Live, Love, Learn and leave a lasting Legacy!

In Tune With Life

Everybody likes Beyonce. The girls they want to be like her. The boys, they wish they could be with her. With the millions of fans and consequently millions in her bank, I can only imagine the work that has gone into the success that is her career. After all, we all know those who have crumbled under the scrutiny and pressure to consistently fulfill the expectations of their perceived awesomeness. Behind closed doors, when she’s taken off her glorious wig and false eyelashes – there’s no such thing as perfect – do you ever wonder what it is that inspires, motivates and most importantly, reaffirms that she is truly fulfilling her purpose?. The answer, according to Journalist Arthur Sheldon – They profit most who serve best.

Life, beyond fulfilling the daily expectations of society, is about having a heartfelt impact on the lives of those around you. What you do then becomes a blessing you enjoy and something that allows your unique talents and gifts to serve others. We do, after all, learn and grow not only by what we do but by why and how we do it. As the New Radicals sang it – Hold on tight; you’ve got the music in you. Don’t let go; you’ve got a reason. Don’t forget you only get what you give.

I like the English idiom – A little hard work never killed anybody. But why take the chance, you might ask? Because even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there – at least according to author Will Rogers. Take a plunge within yourself to find the strength and freedom you may be seeking on the shores of life. Share! Volunteer! Give a compliment when you can. Even Bob Marley urged if you don’t start somewhere, you’re going to go nowhere. So how about a little more bite and a little less bark. A little less fight and a little more spark. Close your mouth and open up your heart with a little less conversation and a little more action!

Author David Whyte says that if you look at the root of the word “courage,” it doesn’t mean wearing a Sylvester Stallone headband, with glistening biceps and bandoliers of ammunition around your neck. It comes from the French word “Coeur “ meaning “heart.” So “courage” is the measure of your heartfelt participation in the world.
In the words of the famous Canadian rapper, Drake – well, famous to the young and the young at heart – You Only Live Once. What mark are you going to leave? Rather than a scraggly note scratched under an old seat, partially covered in 3 month old chewing gum, how about you write it on someone’s heart and keep them singing your song – I WAS HERE!
